General Discussion / Funny Surprise While Christmas Shopping
« on: December 16, 2014, 02:12:28 PM »
Seeing as the OOC board for SAHC is down, I figured I'd post this here. I found a nutty little coincidence while I was Christmas shopping. Look at the name!

Aliens: It's a Bug Hunt / [A:IaBH] A few ideas from a player/GM
« on: December 09, 2014, 11:55:00 PM »
I already started playing Aliens, so I've got a character ready. Judge Dredd is an interesting option, but I've never read the comics and I liked the Stallone version better, lol. What I was really hoping to explore was that superhero concept!

General Discussion / Less Free Time
« on: February 21, 2014, 10:11:13 PM »
This is a notice to all my GMs and fellow players. Yesterday I had my first day of police academy. And although I now have nights to myself, I will be losing quite a bit if not all of my free time in a given week. Academy lasts for several months and I will need to remain very focused during this time.

I want you all to know that I consider you good friends and will do my best to remain in touch. But we have all had moments where life took hold and we needed to see it through to the end.

I humbly ask you all please support me in my efforts to pursue my dreams of protecting the public and hopefully becoming a real living BDH. You'll never be far off in my thoughts.

Steampunk Airship: HMS Cordelia / [SAHC] Ch. 3 Interlude: Moira's Cabin

Cosimo Spacone
Turkish Saber (1d6W)
Percussion Cap Pistol (1d6W, ROF 1/3, 40 ft), Nock Gun (3d6W, ROF 1/4r, 20 ft)
Leather Vest [1w->0, 1w->S, -1ds AGI]

LP: 16  W:5  S:3

Cosimo had much experience in carrying friends back from especially bad nights at the beer hall. The feel of a motionless, semi-conscious fellow in his grasp was nothing new. The near weightlessness and fragility of Moira, however, served well to highlight the difference of this occasion, if it hadn't well been highlighted already. Taking care to enter slowly, Cosimo carried Moira inside her quarters and laid her down on her bed.

For the next couple of minutes (which to the bosun seemed to comprise an eternity) Cosimo stood over Moira's bed and tried to decide his next course of action. She had already thrown up once and if she was going to do so again, he thought it might be best if she could move and breathe, to keep from choking. However, to do that, he had to loosen her corset strings and perhaps even get it off.

Groaning and looking at the ceiling, as though expecting to find the Virgin Mary shaking her head, Cosimo began rolling the doctor onto her stomach. "Moira?" he spoke into her ear and tapped her cheek ever so lightly with two fingers "I want you to breathe." he put his hand onto the top of her corset lace and pulled a couple of times to signal just what he meant "Would you permit me?"

Cortex - Chatroom / Superhero Genre Game
« on: September 29, 2013, 04:54:49 AM »
TOO MUCH Marvel movie and The Incredibles watching has got me thinking a number of things.

Is there a cortex-based superhero game that anyone has heard of? Would it be very hard to adapt a homemade ruleset if one does not exist?

And most importantly: in either case, would any of you out there be as interested as I am in playing it?

General Discussion / One Memorable Pathfinder Game
« on: April 03, 2013, 02:38:56 PM »
I was playing Pathfinder a while back with my friends in a live chat game. My character was quite unlike any other. He was a half-elf monk, but he looked, fought and acted like a Mexican luchador. Problem is that we're constantly jumping around games and now we're not playing that one anymore. God I need to play Pathfinder so much it hurts. I never got a chance to throw an object at a giant's head and then give him my signature move: the Baron's Elbow. 8)

Edit: Or, the stunt I had been wanting to pull off since I started that game. Jump on a flying dragon's back, grapple its wings and force it to crash.

Chris Bishop
Pistol and Knife
4 Plot Points

The guys from the table hadn't emerged from the bar. After a while, Chris sighed sharply with exasperation, moving back inside and making sure Shaemus followed. There he stayed, waiting patiently for them to get up and seeing what he could learn.

General Discussion / Fillable Mongoose Traveller Sheet

I've noticed a lot of talk on the boards about playing Traveller. I was wondering if anyone knew of a fillable character sheet pdf I could use so I can store my character info on my computer.

Previous Crew Sheets / Chris Bishop
« on: November 09, 2011, 01:55:38 PM »
Chris Bishop

Occupation: Veteran soldier/vagrant
Origin: Osiris
Sex: Male
Age: 35
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 187
Appearance: Stubbly, dog faced soldier, rugged. Dresses in faded, often dirt stained/soiled t-shirts and cargo jeans, hiking boots.

Background: Born to a mid-class family on Osiris before the Unification War, Chris enlisted in the Alliance Army and received training as an infantryman. The war had been going on for a while and the Alliance began running into ever more difficult resistance when it attacked territory close to the three main Independent planets. Stealth and deep strike tactics became key on many battlefields. Recognized for his latent abilities in training, Chris was picked along with several others and given special training as a scout, sniper and survivalist.

But the Alliance trained him too well, it seemed. Over the course of his long service, Chris and his platoon racked up a staggering and innumerable kill count. He was eventually given a medical discharge on suspicion of mental distress and sent home right as the war was ending, but never went all the way to Osiris. Nowadays he searches for his place in the new order, tries his best to make his own way and usually drinks whenever the PTSD becomes too much for him to handle. He is not totally beyond saving, however, as he still appears capable of emotion. Something is simply, as his platoon commander put it, "Deeply troubling the poor boy."
