Bert fought with all he had and knew that he was over matched, but he knew the crew of the Cordelia was winning the battle for the deck. As long as he could hold Tavington back long enough not to get skewered in the process and the tide would turn. He just had to hold on. One thing Bert knew any toff couldn't handle was not being shown respect, so Bert figured a little taunting would be just the thing to throw Tavington off his game long enough for help to arrive.

"Fer the arse end of a lord, looks like ya are even dumber than ya look. Did ya actually think that there was any hope of ya gettin' a chance at life once we brought yer cowardly hide ta ground? No matter what else happens this day, YOU DIE, ya are just too stupid ta ken that yer already dead!"

I do believe we need to get to gettin'. I don't remember the exact date this forum will turn into a pumpkin, but it's April, so I do know it's sooner than later. Given the set of rolls just dropped on Ass Bite, I'm going to say, he doesn't have much left to give and we can get to skinning him alive.

"Och Lad, and here yer are supposin' ta be a gentlemen. This time, I'm goin' ta make ya swallow all those pretty teeth ta go with that beak I rearranged on yer ugly gob!"

Bert's smile became as feral as a wolf about to pounce on a defenseless lamb and it taunted.

"I'm better than ye are ya arse lickin' wanker! And in every way imaginable, the only whore gettin' spread this day will be ye when the entire crew of the Cordelia takes turns buggerin' yer arse like a pansy cabin boy! But before that starts, I'm goin' ta tie ya so ya have to look down at the countryside while the crew haves at ya. See, I ken your secret ya cowardly git! Yer afraid of heights!"

Bert roared and then unleashed a left hook like that of a coiled spring as he slashed low with his cutlass at Tavington's gut.

Once the ship's were well, and truly fouled, Bert took a second to secure the wheel before drawing his cutlass and dagger as he leapt from the Cordelia to the Fortuna with a wild wordless roar. His weapons slashing and stabbing with a blinding fury as he drove into the French and Italians with express purpose of breaking through their line to reach Tavington.

As he fought, Bert roared to the crew of the Cordelia to rally their efforts.

"To me! To me ya lot of sheep buggerin' gits! Break these Frogs and Dagos, WE'RE ENGLISHMEN!! BREAK THEM!!"

When he spotted Tavington at the back of the pack he shouted a direct challenge to the disgraced former officer.

"TAVINGTON!! It's me, the man that broke yer bloody nose! Today I am goin' ta break ya once and for all ya cowardly wanker! Face me I dare ya!"

Bert moaned as he felt the Cordelia struggle as if he had taken the wounds himself, then shouted in victory as he saw the Triomphant strike her colors. He craned his head to locate the Fortuna. As soon as he saw the Coward's ship, Bert whipped the wheel so hard it blurred as it spun onto an intercept course. He focused all his rage and his hatred into a three word mantra he snarled over and over as he bore down on Tavington's ship.

"Today you die! Today you die! Today you die! Today you die! Today you die!"

I managed to find my old, old, old login details thanks to seeing this.

I'm sorry for drifting away from you all. This place hosted some amazing times of my life and got me through an awful lot. None of you twitched when I came out and I truly am sorry that I dropped out so much.
I'm looking to start a new BSG game and I thought I should come back and see how you are all doing. I'm sorry to see that it looks like I'm too late.

I love you all. I'll miss you something fierce.

Good to hear from you. I hope all is well and that you are healthy, happy, and safe. As mentioned above, I don't know of any active BSG games, but if you want to try Trek, the link is also above.

Bert hung onto the wheel grimly as he kept the Cordelia on course through the whirling and shifting winds stirred up by the ship's wakes and crashing reports of the cannon. All the while he focused on bringing the Cordelia to where they could board and he could act on his vow to kill the coward.

Forgive my absence of late. Two weeks ago, I slipped on a patch of ice at work and cracked my head open, went into ICU and spent the next week in hospital recovery. 8 staples to close the wound. This past week Ive been recuperating at home, but have had little creative desire.

Though I would drop back in to explain this, and catch up a bit.

DUDE! Wow, glad you are recovering, so sorry you had to go through all that.  :(

Bert's expression became feral as he received orders and could now act to bring Tavington to heel.

"Right 10 degrees Aye!"

Bert echoed as he spun the wheel to bring the Cordelia about, the deck pitched downward in the direction of the turn as the ship responded, almost as if she too wanted retribution for the stain upon her name as much as the crew did.

"Laggin' behind the others is a bloody plot, nothing wrong with that ship, the cowardly wanker is lettin' the other ships take lead so he can run. What he don't ken is today, there is no runnin'. Today death rides a lass named Cordelia and death will be upon ya sooner than ya ever thought possible."

Bert snarled as he waited for the order to turn hard to port and cross the Fortuna's Tee.

Bert hissed as Jamie called out Tavington's presence and it took every ounce of Bert's willpower not to whip the Cordelia onto a course that would engage the Fortuna. Even though the captain's desire to kill the coward as much as his, Bert knew it was his place to wait for orders.

"No matter the cost. No matter the pain. No matter that the devil himself were between me an life itself. Tavington dies today. Gutted and thrown overboard so that the last thing he sees, is the thing he fears most, fallin' ta his death."

Bert vowed with every ounce of his soul.

Bert reveled in dancing across the eddies caused by the storm and was where he was born to be as he held the Cordelia on course, burning to get to their destination and a chance to end Tavington.
